Integral Sustainability Platform

The Integral Sustainability Platform is an attempt to develop a platform for collaborative planning in Auroville. The platform consists of 18 planning teams covering the main Auroville sectors, which fall under three fields of reference: physical infrastructure, social infrastructure, and natural environment. The projects suggests 5-year development plan along with strategies for each sector, as well as recommendations for Auroville as a whole, based on a collaborative and participatory planning process. These include: better relations with the villages; clear criteria (policies, legislation) for each of Auroville’ sectors; clear land policy to enable infrastructure development; clear economic guidelines to encourage development; and establish, support and maintain all 18 sectors.
