Research on Setting up a Statistics Office in Auroville

Absence of an entity which would provide high quality data to aid economic, political and public decision-making has resulted in inefficiencies in data management in Auroville. This research is undertakn in two phases to study the viability and scope of a statistics office in Auroville. First phase consists of interviews with representatives of the community in different levels to formulate the necessity for and roles of an statistics office in Auroville. The second phase concerns realization of such an entity based on available means and sources.
